Education System

The higher education system in Australia is made up primarily of three different types of institutions, each with a unique offering to an international student. They are:

  • 3 year program to obtain Bachelor's degree.
  • 1-2 year programs to obtain a Master's degree.
  • Mandatory work based internships.
  • A Bachelor degree in conjunction with a teaching qualification.

Work Rights & Stay Back

  • English Requirement: IELTS not mandatory.
  • Permitted to take up full-time work from June to August, or work part time for a maximum of 10 hours a week.
  • International students who obtain a bachelor's or master's degree can spend a period of up to 12 months to find a job as a highly skilled migrant. Called the 'search year', this is the time given to graduates to look for a suitable job in the Dutch market.
